Week in Pictures #12

L-R: finished this great read (book review coming soon); eyes peeled for What's In My Bag post this week; still reading this motivational gem, #GIRLBOSS in the making here.

I have been getting back into reading regularly and have been loving it, much better for my eyes and headaches than those late night Netflix binges! I have been slacking on the ole blogging front (again) but there is light at the end of the tunnel as I have lots of upcoming posts, I just need to finally get put some words together. Writer's block is real people.

Week in Pictures #11

L-R: amazing fresh salad at Queen Vic Market; the best hot doughnuts in the whole of Melbourne; finally visited this ice cream shop in Fitzroy.

I had a few hours to kill on Sunday and decided to head to the market for some grub and boy am I glad I did. The sun was shining, I had some yummy food and listened to an awesome band busking - happy Sunday.

Week in Pictures #10

L-R: said goodbye to this beauty; scenic views of Philip Island; loe curling up with this book.

Another chilled week was had, our time dogsitting Tara came to an end and although she could be a pain in the arse (forever chasing cats *face palm*) she will be missed! We headed to Philip Island at the weekend and it was such a nice little seaside town and had an amazingggg pizza place, pizza is BAE. I have been loving reading Wild so far, can't wait to get to the end and finally watch the film now!

Book Club - "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" Mindy Kaling

Confession time I loved this little gem of a read, possibly even more so than Amy Poehler and Tina Fey's offerings. I am such a big fan of Mindy Kaling from her work on The Office US and of course The Mindy Project so I had high hopes for this autobiography and I was not disappointed. It was funny, heart warming and real just like the awesomely adorable author.

New In: Sephora Splurge

So Sydney has a Sephora and I am surprised I managed to control myself and only buy three things. I am actually regretting not picking up more especially Urban Decay's Makeup Setting Spray and Eyeshadow Primer Potion, think I have been taking it for granted that Urban Decay is so readily available in the UK, should have snapped these babies up. Here are the Sephora products I did pick up...

Week in Pictures #9

L-R: Finally getting around to reading this; first ever Sephora purchases; finished reading John Green's Paper Towns.

Been a bit slow on the old blogging front this week... bad Katy. I promise I am getting back to it with lots of upcoming posts. It seems I am being a good girl and doing lots of reading from the above snaps! I gotta admit I don't think I will be doing a book review for Paper Towns as I didn't actually enjoy it that much, I was racing to finish it but for all the wrong reasons. Think my hopes were too high after The Fault In Our Stars, I do want to see the movie though as I am interested to see how Cara Delevingne portrays Margo.

L-R: Doggy walks; loving me some Australian magazines; bus trips with this cutie pie.

Had a quiet one this week, trying to get back into a routine after my little holiday with my parents. Sometimes it's nice to chill at home and binge watch Scandal, drink too much coffee and do some baking - just what the doctor ordered after a couple of hectic weeks.

L-R: my new hobby; bought some flowers and a huge scented candle; finally committing to a skincare regime!

I was in need of a new hobby and I thought I would give calligraphy a go. It's actually way harder than it looks but I am rather proud of my first attempt. Hopefully I will be making snazzy prints and cards in no time - watch this space.
I wanted to spruce up my room a little and a pretty bunch of flowers and a nice candle has done the trick nicely, another reason to hibernate in my bed with my laptop all day.
I am so impressed with the Sukin skincare range, my skin has been feeling smooth and healthy since I started using the products above, think a wee blog post review might be in order!

Speaking of blog posts think I may have to dedicate a post to Amy Schumer, just back from seeing Trainwreck and I loved, it definitely worth a watch.

Back soon

Week in Pictures #8

Melbourne Polaroids

Having my parents in Melbourne was such a treat but also a slight chore as the pressure was on playing tour guide. I think I did quite a good job covering the city mainly hitting up Southbank, Fed Square and the Queen Vic Market several times. The current film exhibition at Fed Square's AAMI is every film buff's dream, there was so much Baz Luhrmann film probs I was loving life.

Week in Pictures #7

Sydney Polaroids

Slightly different format for the weekly posts (and slightly late...my bad). I thought it would be fun to have polaroid style photos to share snip-its from my trip to see my parents in Sydney. We were spoilt with good weather in the city and hung out at Circular Quay a lot because you can never get bored of looking at the beautiful Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
